BANNING TOY GUNS
Folks, we can’t make this stuff up.
A New Jersey lawmaker wants to ban the sale of toy guns.
(New Jersey- WABC, July 11, 2007) - A New Jersey senator wants to make it illegal to sell or give to anyone under age 18 toy guns that look so realistic they can be mistaken for a real firearm.
“The margin between a child’s stupid mistake and a tragic ending is far too thin,” said Sen. Nicholas Scutari.
Scutari, D-Union, introduced the proposal in late June and plans to push it when the Legislature reconvenes late this year. He said the bill stems from an incident in a Union Township where four students were suspended after bringing a cap gun to school.
“We need to stress to our children that guns are not toys, but deadly weapons which should always be regarded with extreme caution and handled with respect,” Scutari said. “Restricting access to imitation firearms will help to drive that point home.”
More idiocy from the Nanny State. Rather than go after the thugs and criminals that use real guns to kill and maim, this idiot wants to ban toy guns.
Hello? Hello? Is anyone home? No toy gun has ever killed anyone. It’s a … toy!
Just like the tapioca-for-brains legislators here in Wisconsin who want to ban the yo-yo waterball because someone might get hurt.
Illinois has already banned it, and there’s a website created by some hysterical activist-mother complete with “horror” stories of the “dangers” of the yo-yo waterball.
“We’re all gonna die!!!!!! Save us, government, from any possible danger in life!”

Ban toy guns? Oh my… that’s great… what’s next? Banning L-shaped sticks that kids use like guns? I played with those a lot growing up :). At any rate, I am trying to get a conservative digg alternative going called GOP Hub (GOPhub.com). Anything you can do to help get the word out would be awesome. Plus you can post links on it to any articles you write here on your blog. Having said that, have a great weekend and keep up the good work!

Man o man, this shizznet is getting old. Next thing we know they’ll require us to all stay home wrapped in double layers of bubble wrap and place carefully in padded rooms. Arrgghhh! Go away Nanny Staters, go away!
