ILLEGAL ALIEN KILLS 4 IN BUS CRASH

Once again, doing the jobs Americans won’t do.

An illegal alien is under arrest, responsible for the deaths of four children by running a stop sign and crashing into a school bus.

MINNEAPOLIS (al-AP) - The driver of a van that hit a school bus in a crash that killed four children was charged Friday with four counts of criminal vehicular homicide and two lesser charges, authorities said. The woman, identified as Alianiss Nunez Morales, 23, of Minneota, failed to stop at a stop sign Tuesday before hitting the bus, which was carrying 28 students from Lakeview School, a prosecutor said. The accident happened near the small town of Cottonwood in southwestern Minnesota.

Morales was also charged with a stop sign violation and for driving without a valid license, Lyon County Attorney Richard Maes said.

Authorities said Morales is not the woman’s real name, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were trying to figure out her true identity. Claude Arnold, special agent in charge of investigations, said Morales told investigators she was from Mexico, and his agency believes she is in the country illegally.

Morales does not have a Minnesota driver’s license, and “she doesn’t have a (driver’s license) anywhere that we’re aware of,” said Lt. Mark Peterson of the Minnesota State Patrol.

Gee, giving a phony name to the police and no driver’s license, either in Minnesota or anywhere and the clueless boobs at ICE say they believe she’s an illegal alien. Gee, ya think???

We don’t even know who this person is, much like the illegal alien who shot and killed Frank Fabiano Jr., the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Deputy. He had multiple names and IDs and the legal system knew all about him yet turned a blind eye, saying it wasn’t their job.

Michelle Malkin has more here.

Minneapolis and St. Paul are both sanctuary cities. Malkin even reminds us that the Mayor of Minneapolis asked federal law enforcement officers to stop wearing vests labeled “Police.”

Welcome to Open Borders America, folks. The three remaining presidential candidates — Tweedledumb, Tweedledumber and Tweedledummy (doesn’t matter which is which, they’re interchangeable) — all support open borders and amnesty and drivers’ licenses for illegal aliens. This will become the law of the land by Summer 2009.

Which means this doesn’t bother any of them all that much. Wonder what they’d say to the families of the children killed by this illegal alien. “She was just here for a better life for herself, we need to bring people like her out of the shadows, give them a pathway to citizenship  ….” Yada, yada, yada,

Spare me.

  • So? If I wanted I could probably find a number of accidental deaths caused by reckless driving AND driving with either a fake license or without.

  • Point is, this is happening with illegals all over the country. They’re here for the mooching of taxpayer provided freebies. Round ‘em up, send ‘em back.

  • But again, Peter, and I’m asking respectfully, while the deaths of the children are indeed tragic, does it justify the over-the-top response from you? Children have been killed in auto accidents before. That the person allegedly responsible is here illegally does not change that dynamic.

I know part of the response will be that if that person had been stopped from entering the country the tragedy would not have occurred. But then I counter … for every accident that has ever occurred, if only the person responsible had decided not to drink, or wake up, or had taken a different route … too many variables.

Peter, the accident did not occur because this person was an illegal alien, it occurred because a human being was reckless while driving.

  • I don’t believe the outrage is unjustified or over-the-top. We’ve seen too much havoc being committed by illegal aliens — felony drunk driving resulting in the deaths of innocent people, rape, sexual assault, child molestation, the murder of a Sheriff’s Deputy about 10-15 from my house.

This has a separate blog post written all over it, rather than bury this in the comments thread. But I will leave you with this: illegal aliens are responsible for 1 million child sexual assaults a year.

  • What part of illegal do they not understand!.Approximately 12 Americans are killed a day by these illegal invaders.I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired of these lilly livered, politically correct, gutless politicians including the 3 remaining apologists candidates for president. They are all about latino votes FIRST,safety sanctity for citizens second. To the sanctuary citys mayors:HOW DO YOU LOOK YOURSELF IN THE FACE?Im ashamed of each and every one of you.My state of NJ is one of the worst. This illegal scum that drove the bus, should be charged with murder!!!The next time that charlatan pres of Mexico ,Calderon complains USA is rascist,LETS SEND HIM A BILL FOR THE 20M
ILLEGAL CRIMINALS HERS–10 BARRELS OF OIL FOR EACH ILLEGAL.TO THE LEGAL CITIZENS,ENJOY OUR BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY,BE TRUE TO USA/SPEAK ENGLISH/WORK HARD,OBEY OUR LAWS,ESPECIALLY MOTOR VEHICLE!!!

  • You’re out of control, Peter. I’m sorry I commented. I won’t again.

  • I didn’t write the last post.

I made my point rationally, but clearly you don’t agree.

  • Peter, perhaps you’re not over-the-top to the degree Nate is, but I sense that your blog (and many others like it) are part of the fertilizer of the “Rush-ian” soil in which folks like Nate are grown. :)

Actually, Peter, it seemed that Tim was the one presenting arguments logically. And actually many law enforcement officials are in favor of driver’s licenses for all residents, regardless of whether their status is legal or not.

Today I reading AMISH GRACE: HOW FORGIVENESS TRANSCENDED TRAGEDY. I’ve been thinking of the actions of the Amish in light of the tragedy in Cottonwood. What a contrast your blog is to what happened in Pennsylvania after their own tragedy. From the book, a family member of the shooter (who killed five children at their small school) says, “About thirty-five or forty Amish came to the burial. They shook our hands and cried. They embraced Amy [wife of the shooter] and the children. There were no grudges, no hard feelings, only forgiveness….”

A funeral director observed the moving moment when parents who had buried their own children just a day or two before offered their kind words of condolences and even hugs to the wife of the shooter. He described it as “something I’ll never forget, not ever. I know that I was witnessing a miracle.” The authors use a wonderful, simple phrase to describe the gifts of flowers, food, money, and presence by the Amish: “CONCRETE ACTS OF GRACE.”

  • Randi,

I cannot begin to tell you how incredibly misguided and naive you are. The Amish would have hugged and forgiven the 9/11 Islamonazis. They are complete pacifists.

Our society is based on justice. We don’t go around giving people hugs and saying “I forgive you’ when they commit a crime. That is not ho our criminal justice system operates. You commit a crime, you do the time. I don’t care to sit around singing, “Kum-Ba-Yah” with any criminal element, be it killer illegal aliens or Islamonazis.

If you are going to have that type of pacifism, you might as well do away with the rule of law, police, courts, prison, whatever. Someone rapes and murders your loved one, the legal punishment is you have to give them a public embrace and say. “I forgive you.” I know a couple of idiots that are that naive, that have told me that the criminal justice system is a violation of Christ’s command in Mattew 7: “Judge not, or ye shall be judged.” By their pretzel logic, none of us can ever sit on a jury.

Morons, pure and simple. They have oatmeal for brains.

I don’t care to live in a Pollyanna society like that. I want these bastards that are here sucking down my tax dollars and killing innocent Americans rounded up and sent back to wherever the hell the came from.

Plus, the illegal alien in Minnesota has shown no remorse for killing those children. She refuses to cooperate with police. If she were sorry, she’d cooperate. She’s only sorry she got caught.

States providing drivers’ licenses for illegal aliens is a wide open door to voter fraud. The driver’s license is the main access to American society. You cannot do anything without it in America except vote in Wisconsin (thanks to the beneficiaries of voter fraud).

A state issued driver’s license automatically registers you at the DMV, thanks to the idiotic motor-voter law. You really think DMV bureaucrats are going to ask their legal status? Hell, they might be ordered by higher-ups not to ask, as in Dane County here. Dane County is 58 square miles surrounded by reality. It contains the People’s Republic of Madison.

    Spare me. Seriously.

Build the damn fence from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico (12 feet underground as well to block the tunnels). Dig a moat on our side of the fence. Take the dirt and raise the levees in New Orleans. Take the surplus alligators in Florida and put them in the moat.

    Problem solved.

(Got that in an e-mail over the weekend but I have seen it before).

Americans are tired of screaming at the top of their lungs: “What part of illegal don’t you understand?”

  • actually many law enforcement officials are in favor of driver’s licenses for all residents, regardless of whether their status is legal or not.

Poll street cops and I’ll bet you will get a decidedly different result than with the desk jockeys, especially Chiefs and other department bureaucrats, who are more like politicians.

As a retired law enforcement officer I have to say that I have not heard or read about any law enforcement officials who favor giving drivers licenses to illegal aliens. I have heard politicians favor such lunacy, and I think the reasons are quite obvious in spite of what they say about it increasing driver safety. The fact is that mere possession of a valid D.L. does not automatically lead to a better driver as we see every day when we drive on our expressways.

The real issue here is that we’re talking about illegal aliens. The word illegal should be enough to end the argument. They don’t belong; the crimes they commit are all preventable crimes; the deaths they cause, whether traffic related or not, were all preventable deaths. One can argue that accidents happen. Try making that argument to the grieving father, mother or sibling of someone killed by another who had no business being in this country in the first place - especially someone who had been in the criminal justice system prior to the date they took the life of another and who should have been deported, or at least in custody awaiting deportation, long before killing another human being.

  • You say, regarding forgiveness, “I know a couple of idiots that are that naive.” Jesus said, of the people executing him unjustly, “Father, forgive them; they do not know what they are doing.” Are you including Christ with those “idiots,” Peter?

On a totally pragmatic basis, suppose President Bush had actually and literally put his Christianity into practice after 9/11? The key point of Amish forgiveness is not dismissing all legal consequences as you suggest — there are many examples of the Amish even testifying at a trial but then, after conviction, asking for a reduced sentence or pleading against the death penalty. More key to forgiveness is surrending the right to revenge, replacing it with a sincere desire for the other person’s well-being.

Forgiveness is not warm fuzzies but rather the concrete acts of grace gifted by the Amish to the killer’s family. Forgivenessness is not excusing the wrong committed against you–on the contrary, forgiveness can only happen when you do indeed blame the person who has wronged you.

So back to 9/11. We all remember the days after 9/11. Nearly the whole world wept with us. We wept together. Blessed are the ones who mourn, for they will be comforted.

But in only a few days sorrow was pushed aside by angry shouts for vengeance. And acts of grace and community were dismissed as naive. And replaced with more practical solutions.

How well have those practical solutions worked?

Stick with the logic now, Peter, are you sure approaching the families of the terrorists with concrete acts of grace, and approaching the broader “families” of the terrorists with forgiveness, and sincerely expressing our desire to other nations and tribes to bring Bin Laden to justice without the use of violence… might not have just “miraculously” worked? Actually, on a pure practical level, the path of peacemaking could not have worked any worse than the path of vengeance.

One last thing. Forgiveness isn’t easy. It is difficult. It is so difficult that it’s impossible for wimps to imagine. (Much easier to build a wall to keep me safe in my recliner with a beer and the football game than to work towards understanding among people who look different than me.)

Forgiveness takes more courage than holding a grudge.

  • “Plus, the illegal alien in Minnesota has shown no remorse for killing those children. She refuses to cooperate with police.”

Sadly, that seems to be all-too common. “Why should I cooperate with the police? Your laws mean nothing to me.”

In Mexico (and Guatamala) they just tie up unwanted dogs and club them to death. It seems that life has no meaning to these people.
This woman claimed that the bus hit *her* - something multiple witnesses discount. She’s pulling the typical illegal immigrant ‘everyone is against ME’ card.

  • I wish there were no illegal immigrants in this country. I think many of them are sucking up our tax dollars and not heeding our laws and I wish they would go home and make their country more livable. God I hate Mexico. But I can’t figure out how to round them all up and deport them. I bet a lot of nice conservative people in government have thought about this and failed to come up with an answer too. Can anyone think of a way except the most practical one? The only way to do it would be to build a gigantic new INS army which would patrol our streets day and night, knocking on doors with flashlights and dogs, stopping and searching cars and trucks and posting road blocks from sea to shining sea. The “ills” would be rounded up, chased down, dragged out and piled into busses. They would be temporarily housed in “concentrated encampments” along the border where they would be assigned numbers and rations. After some months and many ill escapee fatalities, the exit processing will begin. Every attempt would be made to keep families together but the pressure to keep the orderly transfer of “ills” out of the country and over the border would be the first priority. Yeah its only a start but I think it’ll work.

  • Randi,

I don’t know what else to say but that you are incredibly naive. What color is the sky in your world? You cannot operate a society based on that type of Pollyanna-ish outlook. People are sinful by nature (the concept of original sin) as well as by choice. You cannot have a society where the law abiding live at the mercy of the lawless. That’s called anarchy. Do you really want to live in a society without a system of trial and punishment for those who break our laws? Even the Founding Fathers, who were Christians, didn’t want that.

You are asking us to codify a concept meant between individuals, not between the state and its citizens.

As a pacificist, is there anything you’d fight for? Your family? Your children? Yourself?

As for 9/11, taking the fight to the jihadists has worked out pretty well. How many terrorist attacks have we had since then?

And how dare you play the race card!!! That’s right off the bottom of the deck. Of course, it’s second nature to you lefties. It’s the way of not dealing with an argument you can’t win. Just call the other person a racist and then you don’t have to deal with it.

Again, what part of “illegal” don’t you understand? I am sick and tired of paying money to people who just suck down my tax dollars and refuse to assimilate into our culture. Start by learning the damn language and stop waving Mexican flags all over the place. It’s a finger in the eye of all Americans.

We can’t stop illegals, so let’s forgive ‘em? What about SS Fraud? Income Tax Evasion? Interstate Flight To Avoid Prosecution? Those are all felonies. Should we drop those from the books, too?

Or just for foreigners? Or should it only be non-white foreigners?

We haven’t been able to stop murder, rape littering, or jaywalking either. Let’s drop those, too.

In fact, let’s drop all of our laws. And the next time someone kills your kids, just suck it up and tell ‘em “Welcome to America, may I have another?”

  • One more thing on the 9/11 attacks … they weren’t a crime. They were an act of war. The one thing President Bush has understood about Islamic jihad that Bill Clinton didn’t was this was a military matter, not a matter of crime/law enforcement. You can’t sic a collection of U.S. attorneys in Brooks Brothers suits on jihadists. Army Rangers and Marines are a hell of a lot more effective.
